Make up tutorial #1

Make up tutorial #1
that`s me all non made up :3
and this is the make up pallet that I`ll be using along with pearl minerall foundation power from physicians formula and the famous green and pink mascara.
this is after I put on my foundation. I personally really love the pearl foundation because it gives you an amazing glow. I also lightly swept a light glittery brown over my top and bottom lids, then I put a light shimmery nude under my eye brows and on my inner corner.
then take a darker matte brown and sweep it in a C shape in the outter crease of you eye. start by layering it lightly then apply a little more at the lash line so the shadow is a bit darker there. it helps boots your lashes. then take a small flat brush, dip in water as much as needed, wipe over a dark shade of eyeshadow, then apply like liner.
use mascar, blush, and lip color and you`re done!

Clinton Kelly-

"Your clothes tell people the way you want to be treated."
The truest statement about fashion there is. A reason to keep up on trends, create your own style. Without style what would people think? Of coarse, you might be thinking "Well I don`t care what anyone thinks about me." I think it is important to care. You don`t go anywhere in life without the help of someone else; a boss, a boyfriend, anyone you`re trying to impress professionally. Just think about it this way, two girls, similar talents and skills, but one is wearing a nice dress, hair done, and heels while the other is in a tee shirt, messy hair, and jeans. One looks screams unprofessional, not put together, and "I do not take care of myself," while the other says "I`m ready for anything, you keep up with the latest (what business isn`t looking for the newest thing?), and that you care about what others (customers) will think. What about boys? I think that is simple enough. Of coarse they will get to know your personality but will they approach you in a sloppy outfit? First impressions are always happening, so who knows who you will have to impress unexpectedly.
Looks show our personality and how we want to be percieved. A business woman dresses to be a profesionsal, an artist wears quirky styles to show their creativity, an athlete dresses to show their pride and their passions. This applies also to the dark side of fashion; the hoes dress skimpy to get guys, the older dress too young for their age, the insecure wear distracting clothes to take the attention off themselves.

You are the only one that can move yourself ahead, no one else. Whether we like it or not, care or not; your style reflects who you are and it rubs off on other people. To be that powerful, confident, put together woman we must go out and show it.

Basic when you go back (to school)

Yays! Fashion / Makeup Question #1 (:

Question #1. What are some nice tops to wear with jeggings and boots or flats? (School appropriate)
^^here are some of my suggestions. You could pretty much put anything with them but I think that baggier or looser fitting shirts would look best. Tight shirts might make the style look too tight, but you could probably still make it work! Ohhh and on that link, I didn`t look at prices on specific shirts, I just chose them for the look :3

Question #2. What are some good drug store brushes? And which ones should you have?
This depends on how in depth you go with your make-up routine. I usually do more detailed eyes but only use the regular spongey tips and a small flat brush so really not much is needed. I would just suggest getting a small rounded brush for eyeshadow and a thin liner brush for detail/liner. Also a trick is to dip your brush is water first for a more paint-like application process. (I find it easier to get saturated color and define colors that way). Prices really depend on the quality. As you guessed, the higher price the better it will apply the make up but cheap ones work fine for many people!

Question #3. Any good nail colors for fall?
After researching some of the new products online and seeing some of the new nail trends on models or on the street; light pastel blue, shimery grayish purples, dark gray/brown, and peachy colors are painting the hottest nails nowadays. (:

My inspiration photo has been feature on Chictopia for the past few days!
Would there ever be an excuse for me to wear this? Probably not but I would find a reason if I had this amazing outfit!

Why do we think this way?

I`m going to talk about the five biggest mistakes I see kids at my school constantly making and relying on. Numerous times I have passes people in the hallway or out in the city and have seen them making these mistakes. Now I`m not saying that doing this every once and a while isn`t okay or that these trends look bad on you, but I`ve came to the conclusion that some people think this looks good when they do it all the time.

Number One.
Good looking natural hair is great. You wake up, brush it, and go. But not everyone is blessed with that so you put it up in a bun everyday. Why? Because you are lazy.
Hair is a girls holy grail of their style. Not only is it an accessory and defining style, but its your body too. Treat it as a temple. No shirt, dress, or high heels can make up for a drab, plain, "I wake up late....everyday" hairstyle.
Every type of hair has a easy fix for its type.
Straight hair? A quality straightener or blow dryer can make a pin straight style in minutes.
Curly hair? Curl cream or a diffuser will save your strands.
Wavy hair? Smoothing cream, and you`re done!
And we can`t forget about a cute updo! Youtube videos, bobby pins, spin pins, braids? There are many possibilites other than a plain old bun.

Number Two.
Do I even have to explain why wearing this everyday is a crime in itself? Let`s try fit.
A trash bag might show off your body more than this style. Just look that them. What do you think they were made for? Athletes that need lots of room for sports; hence the "sweat" in sweatpants. And last time I checked, sweat isn`t classy or beautiful when you`re not exercizing so neither is your baggy, old sweatsuit.
And NO ONE can ever use the excuse that they`re uncomfortable with their body to wear fitted clothes. Sweat clothes and tee shirts just hide and UNFLATTER your body even more. They make you look bigger and lumpy; one figure no one wants.
Trust me, you can flatter any type of body!
And to be blunt, this constant style says sloppy, lazy, and unkept. Seriously? Hobo-chic or Classy, Sassy, Heels, Jeans, and a Nice Blouse?

Number Three.
They are called leggins for a reason. They aren`t pants. You might as well spray paint your legs black. Do you know the feeling you get when someone that is bigger wears a way too tight shirt? I get the same feeling when you wear leggings. Your butt cheeks hang out, your panty line shows how trashy you can be, and my favorite is the wonderful camel toe you`ll sport. Next time you wear them, just remember we can see it allllll jiggling and maybe you will put on some nice bottoms.

Number Four.
You know that lovely PINK brand sweat clothes that are just so comfy and great!? Yeah we`ll not only do they make you round and lumpy like a fruit, but also the color of fruit. You wouldn`t wear a green shirt and green jeans because it`s too much green, so are sweat clothes an excuse? No.

Number Five.
Brown marshmellow shoes. No style. And again, lazy. There are plenty of comfortable and fashionable shoes out there. Excuse? No. I have a 4.0, I dance, am an editor in yearbook, I sing, I act, I eat, I work, I DO IT ALL IN HEELS.

Rememeber, Beauty and Frumpy are both easy. Only beauty will get you farther.

Creative Fashion tights? Yes Please.

Fall 2011 matched easy!

We always see the new fashion trends for next season. It goes something like this; Look, like it, but wouldn`t wear it from fear of not being able to pull it off. I looked up five of the newest trends for Fall 2011 and provided examples of ways to wear them. Sometimes it feels like Runway just gives the most daring fashionist options to wear, but here are some ways that anyone can wear these new clothes.
1. Lace
Pair bold lace pieces with more conservative or plain ones to keep a nice balance. Trendy yet not a table cloth.
2. Sheer
Layers are key to this style. Wear lightly patterned or neutral camisoles underneath to keep covered. Pair with ultra girly bottoms and accessories.

 3. Huge Sweaters and Skirts...together

Sounds kind of risky but by pairing your top and bottoms to match easily, anyone can rock this look.
4. Bold Jackets/Trenches
What`s not to love about a signature jacket? Show of your more daring side with a bold coat.
5. Clashing Patterns
My best advice is to try on different styles together to find what works for you.

The Stronger

I just realized why girls are deffinitely stronger than men.
We play the hardest of the games, we stand through the hardest time, we provide more than money, strength, and testosterone.
We play the game of love. We stay with them no matter what the situation may be. If they break up with us we still care with undying love untill we`re sure they meant to leave us and beyond. If they cheat, we still believe they care kind hearted and didn`t mean it. If they are mean to us we shrug it off without a second though and still give them unconditional love. If they tell us to believe we trust. If the tell us that they love us, well it doesn`t matter because we loved them just as much as we did before you said those words. We provide them with more love than they will ever get from a friend. We are companions that truely stick with them through anything. What has a girl done for you? What is the worst thing you have put her through? And remember she was still there waiting for you to calm down. How long has she waited for you to call her back or kiss her for the first time again or for you to give her an ounce of hope? She will wait. Turn back and she will be there. She will wait.

The Huge Wall of Products

Everyone hates that feeling of walking into the beauty isle of Walmart or CVS and you see lots a brands that your friend`s brother`s cousin mentioned was really great once or that product that the only good thing about it is the pretty packaging. So I`m going to give my product recomendations and some of the techniques I use to apply them. All of these I have personal experience with using, and probably use today.
Since I don`t like to mislead anyone, I`ll tell you I have a normal skin type that doesn`t become oily or dry very often. The only huge downfall to my skin is that I have some redness around my nose, the apples of my cheeks, and my chin. I`m sure my skin has some effect on how these products interact with my body so if you have oily or dry skin, I can`t completely promise they`ll work the same way. Also, I have long, dark, but not very curly eye lashes and long, naturally straight dark hair that holds styles very well.

^^  me with air dried hair and with many of these product on. Second, my favorite make up box.
I`ll go from start to finish on the products I use for my normal beauty regime when I go out.
Favorite Skin and Hair Products
1. Clean and Clear - My daily face wash. It`s the first wash that hasn`t dried out my skin or irritated it.
2. Clinique Daily Mouisturizer - Great mouisture that doesn`t make yur skin oily but you can deffinitely feel the difference after you use it. Plus it last for a really long time - covers alot of skin with very little product
3. Clinique 7 Day Scrub - I use this at the same time as my face wash. Love the feel of the exfoliating beads. Doesn`t break out my skin or dry it.
4. Garnier Fructis Nutrient Spray - Your hair will love you for this! Deffinitely worth buying. Use it daily before any styling. I usually use it after my shower but you can use it any time. Doesn`t make your hair oily. This is great for color processed hair or really dry hair.
5. Jergens Natural Glow - A great gradual tan. At first it was a little bit spotty but within a few more days it evened out great. You can use as much or as little as you like and since it`s a foam its not greasy. Works well with natural tanning and will continually darken skin no matter how tan you get. The only con for this product is that you will keep a little sticky for about 5 minutes after you use this.

Favorite Make-up

1.Loreal Paris Bare Natural Mineral Make-up - I was extremely skeptical that a powder foundation could cover up any flaws or redness on my face but this works very well. It stays put for the most part too.
2.Victoria`s Secret Luxuria Eyeshadow - The eyeshadow works extremely well if you just dab your brush in some water before using it. I love the flawless shimmer it gives and the colors are so rich.
3. Femme Couture Baked Eye Duo - This is my newest product that I`ve discovered while splurging on make-up. If it wasn`t so expensive (or maybe I`m just cheap) this would be a perfect eyeshadow. Very easy application and has the vibrant and full tones that I look for. Plus this is the darkest brown shadow I`ve found.
4. Clinique Blush - Works better than the many blushes I`ve used. It looks very natural and a ton of it doesn`t come off on my brush in one sweep so I don`t look like a clown. I would never switch to another.
5. Maybelline Pearl Lipstick - This lipstick feels great on my lips and isn`t sticky or too slick, plus the colors are very natural which I love.
6. Wet and Wild Purple Pallett - I love this pallett! For cheap make-up that most believe can never be good, I love this. I always use a wet brush to apply this make up and it has a great hold and shine to it. Plus look how many colors you get! I usually use the darkest purple as eyeliner.
7. Great Lash - Of coarse isn`t it America`s number one mascara? Well untill recently I didn`t believe them but I tried it andyway and I love it. Very full lashes with and without curling them first.

Hope these help next time you go beauty shopping! <3

Two of my Stylebook posts have been featured on Chictopia!

These are two of the photos I`ve found while searching across the internet and they`ve inspired me so they ended up on my Chictopia account. Both were seperately featured on the front page of Chictopia`s website. Credit goes to the original photographers. Hopefully soon I`ll have the rescorces to make great photoshoots inspired by these photographs.

my beef against Tyra Banks.

Cycle 16 ANTM, of course everyone has their favorites. Mine?  Brittani Kline. She is absoluetley fabulous. 5 ft 10.5 in which is a little (a lot) taller than I am but we both have dark brown hair and green eyes. I`m in love with her edgy, retro look that she aquired and her beautiful face.
Now on Episode 7, the most dramatic panel on the Top Model history, she was placed on the bottom two caused by her angry confrontation with Alexandria, where the judges' decision were divided with Tyra Banks being the only one who wanted her to leave. So the reason for the argument was when the girls were competing to be cast as a role model, Alexandria, whom everyone in the house agreed at the time that she was not what you would call a role model, won the challenge. At panel the two bickered infront of the judges where Tyra might as well had told Brittani to shut up and let the mean girls win. I agree with Brittani. Why would you want another heartless girl with a pretty face stand up as a role model for the world of girls when she actually has nothing to give and a hidden bad attitude? If the client knew that Alexandria was just putting on a fake face would she really choose her? Would you want someone who`s fake or nice on and off screen? Maybe Alexandria won the panel by winning over Tyra but Brittani won that Cycle of ANTM. (:
